Nuclear fuel comprising a burable poison and method of manufacture therefor

A uranium oxide-based nuclear fuel incorporating a consumable poison made up of boron has the boron dispersed in the fuel in the form of metallic boride and glass containing boron. An Independent claim is included for the preparation of the above nuclear fuel from a mixture containing UO2, TiB2 and glass powders by uniaxial pressing, sintering and reduction.
