<p>Provided is an aqueous dispersion of a water- and oil-repellent which does not contain any organic solvent and exhibits durable water- and oil-repellency and excellent storage stability. This aqueous dispersion is produced by emulsifying a monomer component comprising one or more perfluoroalkyl -containing (meth)acrylates by the use of an ionic surfactant and/or a nonionic surfactant having fewer than eight ethylene oxide units added per hydrophobic group to thereby obtain an emulsion having a mean particle diameter of 100 nm or below and an integrating sphere turbidity of 20 degrees (kaoline) or below, adding a surfactant having eight or more ethylene oxide units added per hydrophobic group or a protective colloid to the emulsion prior to polymerization, and then subjecting the resulting mixture to polymerization.</p> |
