PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a center injection type cylinder fuel injection engine capable of restraining deposition of fuel spray on a top surface of a piston and promoting fuel atomization. SOLUTION: A combustion chamber S is formed between an upper part of a cylinder bore 12a of a cylinder block 12 on which the piston 14 slides and a cylinder head 13. An intake valve and an exhaust valve facing the combustion chamber S are installed on the cylinder head 13. An ignition plug 17 and an injector 18 are installed on the cylinder head 13, near a center part on a top surface of the combustion chamber S. A concaved part 14a3 is formed near a center part on the top surface of the piston 14. It is constructed so that the fuel is injected to the concaved part 14a3 from a nozzle 18a of the injector 18 from around a top dead center of an intake stroke.
