PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning blade which can exhibit a peeling preventive effect stable for a long period of time even with the low peeling preventive effect and without carrying out work to apply various kinds of agents with which the work is laborious to a blade edge and a process cartridge. SOLUTION: When the coefficient of friction of the contact segment A of the blade which comes into contact with a photoreceptor during the rotation of the photoreceptor is defined asμA and the coefficient of friction of the peripheral segment B thereof is defined asμB,μA>μB is set and therefore even ifμA increases by a certain factor and peeling tends to arise, the B segment comes into contact with the photoreceptor, by which the additional increase ofμA is suppressed and the peeling is prevented.
