Then, Histogram function is run for building amplitude histogram after manually drawing the boundaries of the zone of interest (spatial intraocular formation). Three values of T, L and M are calculated, where T is the total number of elements in the outlined zone having any gray color tint, L is the gray scale tint level (as one of 64 potential gradation degrees) which is the most frequently observable in the outlined zone, M is the number of elements the maximum frequency gray color tint observed in the outlined zone. The M/T x 100 ratio is calculated that describes homogeneity degree of the tissue under investigation denoted as IH (homogeneity index). The L/G ratio is determined as one depending on echogenicity degree of the tissue under investigation denoted as IE (echogenicity index). The values of the indices are interpreted in terms of vascular eye coat melanoma or pseudotumor formation availability. EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis that enables one to differentiate between choroid melanoma and pseudotumor cases including ones occurring in nontransparent optical media of the eye. 2 tbl
