PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave shielding material and an electromagnetic wave shielding structure where jointing parts are easily and surely jointed. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic wave shielding layer comprising such conductive material as aluminum, copper, iron and the like is laminated on the upper part of a lining layer formed of paper and the like, while a surface layer comprising a synthetic resin such as a vinyl chloride resin and the like is laminated on the upper part of the electromagnetic wave shielding layer to constitute the electromagnetic wave shielding material. The electromagnetic wave shielding material is pasted over the entire part for electromagnetic wave shielding. Here, the edges of the electromagnetic wave shielding materials at a jointing part are overlapped together by a prescribed width for integral jointing to constitute the electromagnetic wave shielding structure body. Thus, the electromagnetic wave shielding layer shields from an electromagnetic wave while, at the joint part, the electromagnetic wave is shielded by a capacitor effect.
