PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance monitoring system for optical module which does not require adjustment and has a small circuit scale. SOLUTION: This performance monitoring system is provided with a linear amplifier section 205 which linearly amplifies a performance monitoring signal OPR 113 outputted from a receiving optical module 110, an A/D converter 207 which converts the output of the amplifier section 205 into digital data, and a range switching control section 208 which switches the dynamic range of the amplifier section 205 according to the output data of the converter 207.
