PURPOSE: Provided are a method for using phytase as an anti-fungal material, and an anti-fungal composition comprising phytase. The composition can be used for agricultural chemicals for suppressing plant pathogenic fungi, anti-fungal paints, plant nutrients, or their additives, food additives, and the like. CONSTITUTION: The phytase inhibits mycelium growth of, spore formation and germination of, and appressoria formation of fungi. It is derived from animals, plants, bacteria or fungi, preferably Bacillus or Aspergillus. The anti-fungal composition comprises phytase as an antifungal material.
