PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent developer from being leaked to the outside of a developing device because a developer scattering preventing member interferes with the developer on a developing sleeve. SOLUTION: When it is assumed that the distance of a developer scattering preventing member 17 from a position where the end face 10b of a developer scattering preventing cover is the most proximate to a photoreceptor drum 1 to the drum 1 is X, the most proximate distance of the member 17 from the position where the end face 10b is the most proximate to the drum 1 to the surface of the thin layer of the developer T with which the sleeve 11 is coated is Y, and the projecting length of the member 17 from the end face 10b is Z; X, Y and Z are set to satisfy a condition Y>Z>=X, and the member 17 is arranged so that its edge side coming into contact with the drum 1 may go along a developing part side by the rotation of the drum 1, whereby the edge side of the member 17 does not interfere with the thin layer of the developer with which the sleeve 11 is coated, and then the developer T is prevented from being leaked to the outside of the developing device 3. |
