SOLUTION: In a flash charge control device provided with a boosting circuit 13 for charging a main capacitor 20 by boosting a voltage of the battery 1, and a charging detection circuit 16 for detecting a charging voltage of the main capacitor 20 only when the boosting circuit 13 operates boosting, after starting charging, a CPU 12 detects the charging voltage of the main capacitor 20 at a 1st cycle via the charging detection circuit 16 while charging the main capacitor 20 by letting the boosting circuit 13 perform boosting operation until the charging voltage of the main capacitor 20 reaches a voltage value Vmax, and when the charging voltage has reached the voltage value Vmax, the CPU stops the continuous operation of the boosting circuit 13 to halt charging, and while the charging is being halted, the CPU makes the boosting circuit 13 perform intermittent boosting operation at a 2nd cycle longer than a 1st cycle to detect the charging voltage of the main capacitor via the charging detection circuit 16.
