METHOD FOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYZING PITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quantitative analyzing pitch contained in a paper making raw material, white water or paper. SOLUTION: A sheet to be stuck composed of an inorganic component is brought into contact with a paper making raw material or paper to be an object and pitch in the paper making raw material or the paper is transferred and stuck to the inorganic sheet to be stuck. The sheet to be stuck is released from the a target sample, the sheet to be stuck of fixed area is thermally decomposed or burnt and the gas amount of organic substance evolved in the combustion is determined. The quantitative value is calculated in terms of pitch to give a pitch amount in the target sample. In the case where the sample is white water, white water is impregnated into paper or pulp not containing pitch, which is brought into contact with a sheet to be stuck.
