The high frequency starter control for a motor vehicle (10) internal combustion engine has a circuit with a signal receiver in the vehicle which interrogates the area around the vehicle for the presence of a valid identification source (16) and receive a signal from it. The receiver is programmed to send signals to determine the identification validity for a certain time after vehicle starting. The control circuit can control the engine ignition.
