PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-screen display controller, that can prevent outrunning by having only to store data by two fields. SOLUTION: A control circuit 9 allows a coefficient set supply means 3 to supply a coefficient set, depending on an input field discrimination signal from a slave screen source, a read field discrimination signal from a master screen source, and positions of a write access pointer and a read pointer in an ODD field memory 6 and an EVEN field memory 7 to a reduction filter 2. The filter 2 thins lines to reduce input data, when the input data are written in the field memory of the same field types as that of the input data, according to the coefficient set supplied to the filter 2. The filter 2 converts odd number lines and even number lines respectively into one even number line and one odd number line to reduce the input, data when the input data are written in the field memory of different field type from that of the input data.
