PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer tape and its manufacturing method by which the occurrence of swarf can be prevented and, accordingly, the contamination problem caused by the swarf can be eliminated during rolling the spacer tape round a reel together with another tape in an overlapping state. SOLUTION: The spacer tape is composed of a tape body 1 and many projections 2 which are provided at prescribed intervals on both side edges of the tape body 1 in the lengthwise direction, protruded upward and downward in the thickness direction and/or outward in the widthwise direction to have circular cross sections, and formed by contour extrusion molding. At the time of rolling the tape round the reel together with another tape, the projections 2 which are apt to slip are brought into contact with the reel or another tape. Consequently, the swarf hardly occurs and, accordingly, the contamination problem caused by the swarf can be eliminated.
