PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device allowing a temporary utility pole split into upper and lower parts to be easily and safely erected in a narrow and intricate space at a construction site by an operator within a short time and permitting the used temporary utility pole to be easily removed and recovered. SOLUTION: This device 1 enables the temporary utility pole 2 split into lower and upper pole members 3 and 4 to be erected by following such a procedure that: lower and upper pipe bearing fittings 17 and 28 are attached at a prescribed interval to the pole member 3 whose lower part is buried in the ground and whose upper part is installed on the ground surface in a hanging manner; a bearing pipe 8, wherein an arm 12 is horizontally installed in a protruding manner at an upper end, is fitted into the pole member 3 so as to protrude high above the pole member 3 in a hoisting manner; in the arm 12, there are disposed a rope 15, a pulley 14, and a hook 16; and the hook 16 is locked to the pole member 4, which is hoisted in an approximately vertical attitude up to the position of fitting into the pole member 3 for the purpose of being fitted into the pole member 3. Additionally, after the completion of construction work, the inverse procedure allows the utility pole 2 to be dismantled and recovered by means of the device 1.
