PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a latch device used for an indication device set in ceiling section or the like of a moving body, eliminating shakiness between an indicating section and an indication device body when the indicating section is stored, narrowing the depth of the indication device body and consisting of the reduced number of components with a simple component shape. SOLUTION: The latch device provided to the indication device body is so constituted that it has a latch section having a projection fitted in a recess section of the indicating section, it has an upper latch and a lower latch constituted so as to engage the latch section through a ball held between both upper and lower latches, the lower latch engaged with the ball also moves when the upper latch is pushed by the indicating section to move and that the upper latch moves after the lower latch moves a certain distance since the ball rolls inside of a slot of the upper latch when the lower latch is pushed by the indicating section to move.
