PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for ink-jet recording using a pigment ink and a medium to be recorded by which an ink-jet color recorded article with improved scratch resistance and water resistance on the image parts can be obtained when a highly precise and fine full color image is formed by using a plurality of colored pigment inks. SOLUTION: The system and the method for ink-jet recording using a plurality of colors of an aqueous pigment inks characterized by existing a medium to be recorded (1) provided with a porous ink receiving layer in which the ink receiving layer is constituted of a particulate alumina hydrate and a resin binder as the main ingredients and volume of the fine holes of the ink receiving layer is in the range of 0.1-1.0 ml/g and dispersed pigment particles (2) containing a resin ingredient and whose particle diameter distribution of the pigment particles in the ink is in the range of 10-500 nm and with the number of at most 30% of the whole particle diameter distribution in the range of 300-500 nm.
