PURPOSE: To prevent the increase of chip size and the degradation of picture quality as much as possible and to make performable the access operation to a memory by a CPU in a time as short as possible. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with a single board memory 50B in which data for display to be displayed on a liquid crystal display part 2 are stored, a liquid crystal driving circuit 10 which fetches the data for display held in the single board memory 50B in a prescribed cycle and transmits the fetched data to the liquid crystal display part 2 and a control circuit 20 which controls the liquid crystal driving circuit 10 so as to fetch the display data from the memory in the prescribed cycle and to transmit them to the display part when a CPU does not access to the memory and, also, so as to interrupt the fetching operation of the display data in order to make the CPU have the priority and to make the CPU perform an access operation in the case where the CPU accesses the memory when the circuit 10 is fetching the data from the memory and to perform the fetching operation of the display data again right after the access operation of the CPU is completed.
