PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive economical medium containing yeast extract, capable of further improving the growth promoting performance of conventional yeast extract, enabling easy judgment of the number of cells and the growing state of the microorganism owing to the pale color of the medium and having good appearance and color. SOLUTION: The medium for the detection of microorganism contains a torula yeast extract as an active component.
