PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control power supplied to a load 2 in accordance with the power capacity of a power supply 1. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment is provided with a sense resistor 3 connected with the power supply 1, a means 5 for causing the voltage across the sense resistor 3 to vary in a prescribed cycle, means 601 to 603 for detecting the maximum voltage value Vmax, the minimum voltage value Vmin, and the mean voltage value Vmean of the voltage across the sense resistor 3 in each prescribed cycle; and means 604 to 606 for determining the power capacity of the power supply, based on the results of detection by the detecting means.
