PURPOSE: To provide a controller for a vehicle capable of avoiding a situation that restart of a driving force source after the driving force source is stopped becomes impossible in advance. CONSTITUTION: This controller for the vehicle having a plurality of driving force sources transmitting torque to wheels and a start device starting the specific driving force source among a plurality of driving force sources, stopping the specific driving force source when predetermined stop conditions are satisfied, and starting the specific driving force source which stops by the start device when predetermined restart conditions are satisfied is provided with a startability judging means (step S1) judging whether the startability of the specific driving force source is reduced or not and a stop inhibition means (step S3) inhibiting the stop of the specific driving force source when it is judged that the startability of the specific driving force source is reduced by the startability judging means (step S1) even if predetermined stop conditions are satisfied.
