The invention discloses a new polypeptide- human mitochondrial endomembrane transferase Tim 23(TIM23)11.66, the polynucleotide encoding said polypeptide, and a process for producing the polypeptide by recombinant DNA technology. It also discloses methods of applying the polypeptide for the treatment of various diseases, such as mitochondrial disease, tumor, development disorder, inflammation, and immune disorders. This invention also discloses antagonist against said polypeptide and thereof therapy uses.
