<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal assembly which protects the leakage of fuel vapor caused by fuel penetration and loss of liquid fuel leakage from the seal. SOLUTION: A flange seal assembly 10 is used for a fuel tank with a multiplayer plastic construction and it has a wall 18, a ring 32, an elastic sealing material 34 and a flange 36. The wall has an outer layer 20, a penetration protecting layer 22 and a break through 30. The outer layer is equipped outside the penetration protecting layer. The ring is connected with the outer layer and arranged to surround the break through. A part of the penetration protection layer is successively located around the edge of the break through and exposed to the outside. The elastic sealing material surrounds the break through and it is directly connected with the penetration protecting layer and it is also connected with the flange.</p> |
