PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal processing method for an optical fiber cord (the cord), in which a breaking accident due to hardening of the cord caused by an adhesive infiltrating into the terminal is prevented during the processing of the terminal of the cord, and superior operability in inserting the terminal into a ferrule is obtained by forming the exposed part of the fiber-supported layer in the processed part of the terminal into a specific shape. SOLUTION: The method consists of a process of machining the lead part of the terminal of the cord 1; a process of treating the end face of a resin jacket layer for coating the peeled end face of the resin jacket layer 2 with an elastic adhesive 6; a process of applying a hardening adhesive for applying a hardening adhesive 7 to the exposed part 3 of the fiber-supported layer in the terminal; a process of forming the exposed part of the fiber supported layer for forming the exposed part 3, which is coated with the hardening adhesive 7, by means of a cap body 8 for forming; and a process of installing into a ferrule for fixedly inserting the terminal of the cord 1 into a ferrule 9.
