PURPOSE: System and method for controlling brake traction is provided to control brake pressure of an outlet in a hydraulic pump without installing a relief valve through driving a motor. CONSTITUTION: System for controlling a brake traction comprises a wheel speed detecting unit(41) mounted on a wheel; a control unit(42) receiving the detected signal form the wheel speed detecting unit; a brake switch(221) detecting control of a brake pedal(22) to supply into the control unit; a brake switch(22a) controlling a traction while generating excess slip without controlling the brake; a motor driving unit(44) outputting a motor control signal of voltage; a wheel cylinder receiving brake hydraulic pressure by operating a hydraulic pump; and an electric current detecting unit(45) detecting driving current applied to the motor. The control unit decides whether the discharged pressure of the hydraulic pump is an established control pressure. Thereby, the system for controlling the brake traction controls brake pressure of an outlet in the hydraulic pump without installing a relief valve.
