PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize wiring resistances of electrode wiring lines at a substrate for an ink jet recording head without increasing a size of the recording head. SOLUTION: In the substrate for the head where common electrode wiring lines 105a, 105b, 105c and 105d are formed with different wiring lengths, thicknesses of electrodes as well as breadths A, B, C and D of the electrodes are adjusted in accordance with the respective wiring lengths. The thickness of the common electrode wiring lines 105a and 105b is made t1 and the thickness of the common electrode wiring lines 105c and 105d is made t2, so that the wiring resistances of the electrode wiring lines are nearly equalized. In other words, since the wiring resistances are equalized by adjusting at least the thickness of each electrode, the wiring resistances can be uniformed without requiring a size in a direction along a face of the substrate (breadth direction of the electrodes) so much.
