PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane pump capable of realizing a change of the maximum capacity of a pump and a partial capacity of the pump to be changed by the operation of a control valve at a low cost and having a large degree of freedom in a change of the capacity. SOLUTION: This vane pump has a cam ring 11 formed with a cam surface 12 having a main cam surface 12a and a sub cam surface 12b, a rotor 13 provided with plural vanes 15, plural pump chambers 19, a main pump part 20 having the pump chambers 19 formed by the main cam surface 12a, a sub pump part 21 having the pump chambers 19 formed by a sub cam surface 12b and a control valve 50. The main cam surface 12a and the sub cam surface 12b are formed into a different shape so that the capacity of the sub pump part 21 is larger than the capacity of the main pump part 20. The control valve 50 controls the discharge flow from the vane pump by cutting the communication between sub discharge passages 42 and 43 communicated with the sub pump part 21 in relation to the main discharge passage 40 communicated with the main pump part 20.
