PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine under what condition a detergent feeding device is. SOLUTION: This washing machine has a permeability sensor 7 which detects the permeability of the washing liquid in a washing basket, a current detecting circuit 63 which detects the current value flowing to a motor for feeding a detergent in the detergent feeding device and a latch switch 37 for detecting the opening/closing state of a detergent feeding valve for opening and closing a detergent outlet. A controller 60 decides the condition of the detergent feeding device in accordance with the results of the detection by the detecting means of at least two thereof. More specifically, when, for example, the current detecting circuit 63 detects the current value larger than a set vale and the permeability sensor 7 detects the penneability higher than the set value (when the feeding amount of the detergent is small), the controller decides the occurrence of the solidified state of the detergent in a detergent storage section and reports the same.
