A spinning spindle bearing comprises a roller bearing 4 located in the upper cylindrical portion 3a of a casing 3 between a flange la of a bushing 1 and a conical top portion 3b of the wall 3a. The flange 1a rests on a shoulder 2 of the casing 3, and below this a series of transverse slots 10 render the portion 3a resilient with respect to the main lower portion. A footstep bearing 5 is formed at the lower end of the bushing 1, and oscillations of the spindle are dampened by sleeves 6, 8 disposed in lubricating oil 9 between the bushing 1 and casing 3.
