DSP APPARATUS FOR CAPTURING MOTION IN REAL TIME AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A DSP apparatus for capturing motion in real time and an image processing method using the DSP apparatus are provided to track markers located at characteristic points of a person in real time even with a conventional analog camera and personal computer. CONSTITUTION: A DSP apparatus for capturing motion in real time includes a video decoder(20), the first and second frame buffers(30,40), a timing logic(50), a plurality of DSP chips(71,72,73,74) and at least one CPU(75). The video decoder receives an analog signal from a camera outputting interlaced images and converts the analog signal into a digital signal. The first and second frame buffers divide the digital signal into even frames and odd frames and store the frames. The timing logic applies control signals to the video decoder and the first and second frame buffers. The DSP chips and CPU generate coordinate data using the digital signal stored in the first and second frame buffers.
