PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the stock for a shadow mask having uniform and excellent magnetic properties in a coil, to provide its production method, to provide a shadow mask using the cold rolled steel sheet thereof and to provide a picture tube in which the same shadow mask is incorporated. SOLUTION: This stock for a shadow mask for a color picture tube is composed of low carbon alloy steel having the components of, by weight, 0.10 to 0.20% Mn and <=0.02% Al, the shadow mask uses the same stock, and the same shadow mask is incorporated into the picture tube.
