PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which large recording capacity. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing an optical recording medium having an information signal part 11 and a light-transmitting layer 12 on the face where laser light enters, signals with <=0.65 μm track pitch P are recorded on the substrate 10 having >=0.6 mm film thickness, then at least, either a reflection film or a recording film is disposed thereon and then the light-transmitting layer 12 is formed from a UV-curing resin on the deposited film. The thickness t of the light-transmitting layer 12 is controlled to 10 to 177 μm, and variance Δt in the thickness of the light transmitting layer 12, the numerical aperture N.A. of the lens in the optical system for reproducing or recording and reproducing the optical recording medium, and the wavelength λ of laser light satisfy the relation of |Δt| <=5.26(λ/N.A.4) (μm). |
