PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prophylactic agent for diseases capable of feeding an organic acid as an active ingredient into the large intestine and maintaining Escherichia coli florae healthy. SOLUTION: This prophylactic agent for the diseases is capable of maintaining Escherichia coli florae healthy and carrying out the prophylaxis of the diseases by coating a capsule or a tablet containing the organic acid as the active ingredient therein with a natural polymer soluble in the large intestine, administering the resultant pharmaceutical preparation and thereby feeding the organic acid as the active ingredient to the large intestine.
