<p>A medical guide wire doubling as a catheter capable of applying, in a single insertion operation, a pressure to a specified part of the inner wall of a blood vessel to dilate it or excise that part, as well as to administer a medicament to that part. A medical guide wire to be inserted into a blood vessel of a human or animal, comprising a guide wire body and a bump body provided at the tip end of the guide wire body, characterized in that the guide wire has a pipe connected to the bump body after passing through the interior thereof, and the bump body is provided with one or a plurality of medicament flow outlets connected to the pipe, whereby the bump body inserted to a specified part in a blood vessel is vibrated or slidably moved to thereby scrape the specified part on the inner wall of the blood vessel or dilate a constricted portion occurring on the blood vessel inner wall, and to administer a medicament from medicament flow outlets in the bump body.</p> |
