PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally-developable photosensitive material having high sensitivity, low fog and improved raw stock preservability, and to provide a method for producing the thermally, developable photosensitive material. SOLUTION: The method for producing the thermally, developable photosensitive material satisfies the requirements: (1) has a step in which non- photosensitive silver halides are formed in between the preparation of an organic silver salt and the preparation of a coating liquid, (2) photosensitive silver halide is prepared independently of the step described in (1), (3) the photosensitive silver halide is mixed with the organic silver salt prior to the step described in (1), (4) the resulting mixture is dispersed, and (5) at least a hypersensitizer or a chemical sensitize is added to the resulting dispersion, after adding a compound which is adsorbed on at least the photosensitive silver halide or the organic silver salt.
