PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold accumulator that has the little possibility of pulverization, is excellent in workability and durability and is capable of exerting a prominent refrigerating capacity in a low-temperature zone and a regenerative refrigerating machine and the like using the cold accumulator. SOLUTION: In a cold accumulator 1 having cold storage materials 3 filled inside the cold accumulator main body 2 and allowing refrigerant gas to circulate from one direction to the other direction of the cold accumulator main body 2 so as to attain low temperature, the cold accumulator features that at least a part of the plate-like cold storage material 3 has a thickness of between 0.03 mm and 2 mm. Moreover, the cold storage material preferably comprises an alloy containing rare earth elements of 10 at% or more. Furthermore, the length of the plate-like cold storage material in the direction in which refrigerant gas flows is preferably between 1 mm and 100 mm.
