Programming error identifying method involves modifying tested software program so that distributed between functions to be filed, data structures and variables, are added several unused storage locations whose addresses are marked as illegal, and the modified program is executed. The actual addresses of write/read accesses at the address of the working memory are picked off and compared with addresses of the unused locations marked as illegal. All the write- and/or read-accesses at the unused storage locations whose addresses are marked as illegal are detected.
