A power operated fastener driver has a housing formed of two halves 12a, 12b, and has a magazine in its handle. The magazine has an opening 122 for inserting fasteners. One of the housing pieces has an extension 123 adjacent to the magazine opening which forms a shelf to guide fasteners into the magazine.
