The invention concerns a method for producing a cutting plan for semi-finished products defining how to cut off from a stock of semi-finished products one or several batches of products designed to fulfil one or several orders recorded in an order book which consists in: determining an operable cutting plan consisting of batches of semi-finished products each associated with an order. The method is characterised in that it consists, for each batch, in defining an assignment risk; assessing whether the assignment risk is acceptable or not; producing an operational cutting plan consisting only of batches whereof the assignment risk is acceptable.
