The triangular holding piece (2) can move along the vehicle axis (11) and can be mounted on the hinge or lock support (1) parallel to the axis (11) for locating in a final position. At its foot end (8) the triangle (2) is cylindrically contoured to seat positively into a guide mounting (10) of hinge or lock as used, the mounting acting as linear guide along the vehicle axis (11). The locating triangle (2) has a cylinder ended (12) pressure piece (13) pressed against the inside end of the triangle (8) by means of a fixer screw (3,4) inserted in hinge or lock so the triangle and mounting (10) lock together by friction over a wide area. The triangle (2) has an opening (15) in its end (8) for the screw (3,4) to allow the triangle to be adjusted unless finally located. Adjustment at this stage in no way affects the position of the pressure piece relative the screw (3,4).
