PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train detecting method for eliminating a failure in detecting the existance of a train due to the reception of leaked waves resulting from poor insulation between adjacent track circuits. SOLUTION: A plurality of transmission blocks with a plurality of track circuits in each transmission block are provided. A scanning order which is used for transmitting power from these transmission blocks to the respective track circuits is changed for every scanning with several types of scanning transmission changing patterns X, Y, without forming the same timing for every pair. After the end of one cycle, the same scanning is performed again in the original condition. Thereafter, it is repeated in sequence. Interfering waves due to leakage from the adjacent track circuits or induction trouble can be detected while preventing the adjacent track circuits from receiving two-scan transmission signals in succession at the same time.
