DIELECTRIC LEAKAGE WAVE ANTENNA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric leakage wave antenna capable of enhancing its efficiency with a simple structure. SOLUTION: Electromagnetic waves are leaked by providing metal strips 24 as loading bodies on the upper surface of a second dielectric substrate 23 forming a transmission line for transmitting the electromagnetic waves with a ground plate conductor 21. The conductor loss of the ground plate conductor is decreased by providing a first dielectric substrate 22, which forms a dielectric layer having a dielectric constant smaller than that of the second dielectric substrate 23, between the ground plate conductor 21 and the second dielectric substrate 23 and reflections inside the transmission line are suppressed by providing metal strips 25 at positions deviated from the metal strips 24 just forλg/4 on the lower surface side of the second dielectric substrate 23.
