PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such that a conventional telephone set has had to make edit operations every time of call-back by using caller information, has required trouble of advanced registration even when its own area code is registered, cannot decide edit operations unconditionally depending on the caller's area code and a contracted telephone company or the like, has required the user's edit operations depending on the situation and cannot have easily made a callback. SOLUTION: In the case a user uses caller information sent from a line to make a callback, when edit of the telephone number is required, the telephone system of this invention stores its area code and an edit pattern so that the telephone system can automatically edit the telephone number having the same area code thereby allowing the user to easily make a callback.
