PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a communication area where an optical beacon on-vehicle unit communicates with an optical beacon road-side unit without applying the burden on a control part(CPU). SOLUTION: The optical beacon on-vehicle unit is provided with a light emitting part 1 for emitting an optical bacon signal, a light receiving part 2 for receiving the optical beacon signal, a light emitting driver 3 for controlling the part 1, a reception amplifier 4 for amplifying and demodulating a reception signal which is received by the part 2, a signal processing part 5 for performing a modulation processing in a transmission/reception signal and the control part(CPU) 6 for performing the control and calculation, etc., of transmission/ reception data. When the format of an optical beacon communication signal is surely received in the signal processing part 5, it is judged to be the communication area where the optical beacon on-vehicle unit communicates with the optical beacon road-side unit and, then, reception data are inputed to the control part(CPU) 6. |
