A recording material has an ink receiving layer containing vapor phase process silica, on one surface (A) of a support. The support is formed by coating a polyolefin resin on both sides of a base paper. The other surface (B) of the support has 10 point average roughness (Rz) measured by JIS-B-0601 of 12-40 mu m, in a reference standard length of 8 mm.
