The present invention relates to novel derivatives of andrographolide, their stereoisomers, their polymorphs, their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, their pharmaceutically acceptable solvates. The novel derivatives of andrographolide have the general formula (I). The andrographolide derivatives represented by general formula (I) defined above of the present invention are useful for treating cancer, HSV, HIV, psoriasis, restenosis, atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular disorders, antiviral, antimalarial, antibacterial, hepatoprotective, immunomodulating agents and for the treatment of metabolic disorders.
