A mobile communications device, operating as a client, transmits a connection request through the network to a data service provider, whilst the connection is being established, information representative of the identity of the data provider is displayed to the user. The browser connection settings may be such that the WAP enabled mobile may display animated graphics. The mobile may have a memory for storing the information for display, which is downloaded prior to the connection being made. An indication that the connection is being made may also be provided. The mobile may comprise a PDA.
