PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for collecting machine information and a recording medium, with which the load of a machine for collecting machine information is reduced when collecting the information and further, the information is collected without having to apply load to a network. SOLUTION: A server module is provided with an integration processing part for integrating the received machine information for each low-order machine. Also, a client module is provided with a collection control processing part for storing the machine information, with which managing information containing a server name, a client identification name and a collection date is added to collection data containing inventory information for each record, in a collected result file.
