PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide reinforcing fibers which are used for friction materials and inhibit the generation of static electricity on the opening of aramid pulp to prevent the fibers from scattering and adhering to surroundings, thereby improving workability and fiber openability. SOLUTION: The reinforcing fibers for friction materials, characterized by adhering an antistatic agent solution containing a surfactant, an antistatic agent aqueous emulsion containing a surfactant emulsified and dispersed therein, or both the solution and the emulsion to aramid pulp and then opening the aramid pulp.
