PURPOSE: A structure for suppressing thermal deformation is provided to prevent friction between the inner surface of slot and vane, and compression gas leakage, by preventing the cylinder from being thermally distorted by the welding heat generated during welding process for fixing the cylinder to the closed container. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic compressor comprises a closed container(1) having a predetermined inner space; a motor unit disposed inside of the closed container and which generates driving force; and a compression unit for receiving driving force from the motor unit, and which sucks and compresses gas and discharges compressed gas. The compression unit has a cylinder(5) fixed to the inner wall of the closed container through a welding process. The cylinder has a plurality of welding portions(20) protruded from a cylinder body(5a). The cylinder is inserted into the closed container, in such a manner that the outer periphery of the cylinder body contacts the inner periphery of the closed container and welding portions of the cylinder body contact the inner wall of the closed container. The cylinder is coupled with the closed container, in such a manner that welding portions are welded to the inner wall of the closed container which is in surface-contact relation with welding portions, forming a welding point(W) between welding portions and the corresponding surface of the closed container.
